Data  ·  healthcare  ·  product  ·  strategy

Making data, analytics, and tech easy for those who need it most.

I work with business leaders, clinical teams, and growing organizations to cut through the noise — turning data into real decisions and half-formed ideas into working systems. Based in Southern California, working nationally and remotely.

13+ Years of data & product leadership
30+ Products shipped & systems built
190+ Locations supported nationwide
10+ Peer-reviewed publications
190+ 98% 4.9 65%

I'm the bridge between your data and your decisions.

Here's what I've noticed after 13 years in this work: most organizations don't have a data problem. They have a translation problem. The data's there — it's just not speaking the right language to the right people. That's the gap I exist to close. Whether you need a full analytics overhaul, a sharper product strategy, or someone to finally decode what your data is actually telling you — that's exactly where I come in.

Expertise & services

Here's where I do my best work

Every service is built around real experience and a genuine commitment to your outcomes — not a templated deliverable.

How it works

A simple, low-friction process

Getting started should feel easy — not like homework. Here's exactly what working together looks like from first hello to final deliverable.

1

Discovery call

We talk through what you're working on, what's not working, and where you want to go. No pressure — just clarity.

2

Proposal

I send a clear proposal with engagement options — scope, format, and investment — so you can choose what fits best.

3

Refine together

You share feedback, we adjust. I want it to feel right for both of us before we move forward.

4

Contract

I send a simple, clear contract. Everything is transparent, mutual, and aligned with what we agreed.

5

Sign & kick off

We sign, schedule a kickoff, and get to work. I come prepared with questions and a clear plan for how we'll start.

6

The work

I do what I said I'd do — and then some. You'll always know where things stand. Communication is never a problem.

7

Confirm & celebrate

We check in that your expectations were met — ideally exceeded. This matters to me personally, not just professionally.

8

Feedback

I send a short feedback form. Your honest thoughts help me grow and help future clients know what to expect.

About Shelbi

Strategic thinking, grounded execution, and a genuine love for making things clearer.

I'm Shelbi Cox — founder of Zanalytics Consulting, published researcher, and someone who has spent 13+ years helping organizations make sense of their data and build systems that actually work.

My work lives at the intersection of data, product, and people. I specialize in analytics with deep expertise in healthcare and behavioral health — but I've worked across a wide range of industries, and I genuinely love the variety. There's something I find endlessly interesting about learning a new space and figuring out how to make the data serve the people in it.

What makes me a little different is how I work. I have a real knack for hearing someone's vision — even when it's half-formed — and helping them get it out of their head and into a clear, structured, executable plan. Whether that's building an analytics system from scratch, getting a stalled project back on track, or helping a leader find their footing, I show up fully invested every time.

I give everything 110%. That's not a tagline — it's just how I'm wired. My clients come back not only because the work was good, but because they felt genuinely supported throughout. Dependable. Clear. Honest when something needed to change.

I'm also deeply committed to community — especially for women in tech and healthcare. I mentor through formal organizational programs and the Women in Big Data network. I host a free monthly virtual call for professionals navigating transitions and new chapters. I believe good guidance shouldn't be gatekept.

Based in Southern California. Working nationally and remotely. I'd love to hear what you're building.

Dependable

I do what I say I'm going to do. Every time.

Clear communicator

I turn complexity into clarity — for executives, teams, and anyone in between.

Grounded in reality

Every recommendation I make, I'd stake my reputation on.

Genuinely invested

Your wins matter to me beyond the scope of work.
